Anna Marie’s Teas in Liberty has delightful monthly themed tea parties in a historic home. They also have a tea store on the Liberty Square (to northeast side of Kansas City, MO).
I have loved drinking tea since I was little. My mom would throw delightful tea parties. This year I will highlight my favorite Teas of KC. My favorite tea is always an elaborate affair accompanied by sweet treats and tiny sandwiches.
Anna Marie’s Monthly Themed Tea Parties
Anna Marie’s Teas is my go to for a full tea experience. I know they will be scheduled regularly and are always wonderful. The home is beautiful, the service is great, the food is delicious and beautiful, and the tea of course is tasty and bottomless. Themes vary monthly from chocolate, Autumn, Christmas, even a Spring porch tea.
Who to Bring?
I’ve been known to treat myself to a solo afternoon tea, but you really need at least one other person to “spill the tea” (share the best gossip) and make your tea a real tea party. I suggest grabbing your girl friends, mother, sister, or even significant other for the best experience. It’s a great idea for a birthday or bridal shower.
The Food
While the food varies from month to month with the theme, you know you can expect scones, a few savory finger sandwiches, and a dessert. Check out the printed event listing on your table for more details on the treats accompanying your tea.

After your tea party or between tea parties, stop by Ana Marie’s Teas Shop to get a variety of loose leaf teas, easy scone mix, and tea accessories. It’s especially great for buying gifts (or treating yourself)! You can also order online.
Tips for the Best Time
Buy tickets Early: Reservations are required for the monthly tea parties. Tickets can sell out months ahead so buy tickets in advance.
Sit Together: If you buy tickets separately from your friends, contact Anna Marie’s Teas, so they know to seat you together.
Parking: Carpool as the historic home is in a neighborhood with street parking. Look for the big yellow teapot cutout sign on the corner lot. You can drop off anyone who can’t walk as far.
Arrive Early: Leave yourself some time to park and walk to the home. Seating begins about 5 minutes before the tea.
Dress up: As with many things, it’s more fun if you dress up for this special event!
The day of your tea party, you’ll get a coupon to use the same day at the Anna Marie’s Teas Store nearby. If you loved the tea served at your party, you can buy it at the store and enjoy it at home.
